Julian of Norwich has always been my go-to wisdom figure when things are uncertain and pain-filled. She is utterly realistic here. We will come across times in our life when the ground is shifting and the storm blurs the way forward. Jesus himself walked resolutely through the darkness of Calvary. The important word is “through.” Because we are always and forever held in the precious love of God for us, in his strong yet tender embrace, and our walking forward is always a walking through to resurrection.
